Fluorite (Rare Botryoidal Habit) on MM Quartz Natural Mineral Specimen # B 4893
An elegant example of this well-known material, with a delicate golden-yellow hued Fluorite crystal sphere set on a somewhat smoky-colored Quartz crystal matrix, this item is a perfect example of the material.
We must emphasise that the Quartz is crystallised, as many pieces from this locality contain Fluorite on cryptocrystalline Quartz, such as Chalcedony, rather than euhedral crystals like this one.
When backlit, the Fluorite "ball" appears to be gemmy, and it is in good shape, with only a small amount of roughness on the rear where the piece was taken from its original pocket wall setting.
