Apophyllite with Okenite Balls Natural Mineral Specimen # B 4549
India has always been the source of excellent okenite specimens. There are very few quarries in India that are producing fresh material these days.
Due to the way it forms spherical "puff ball"-like groupings, this mineral has one of the most unique looks out of any species. Because they bruise easily and can shatter small thread-like crystals when touched, their "fuzzy" look should be avoided at all costs. Numerous soft pale crinoids are shown on this big cabinet display specimen.
